A. The Leopard-Beast
Revelation 13:1-10
This seems to be a further description of the Beast which killed the
Two Witnesses, Revelation 11:7; and which is still more fully described in chapter 1';
The Dragon, that is the Devil, having failed io destroy the Church
by Persecution, now installs himself in this Beast, to continue his War
against the Saints, Revelation 12:18-13:1.

The Beast had the composite appearance of a Leopard, a Bear, and
Lion, Revelation 13:2; symbols which Daniel had used for World Power, Daniel 7:3-6.

B. The Lamb-Beast
Revelation 13:11-18
This Beast looked like a Lamb, Revelation 13:11. The first Beast looked like
a Leopard. But they were Allies. The Leopard-Boast had been killed
Revelation 13:3. It was the Lamb-Beast that brought him to life, Revelation 13:15: the
Dragon working in them both, Revelation 13:2, 4, 11.

The Lamb-Beast was the Revived Leopard Beast. While looking like a
Lamb, he spoke like a Dragon, Revelation 13:11. He had power to kill whoever
would not wear his mark, Revelation 13:15. He blasphemed the name of God, and
made war on the Saints, Revelation 13:6, 7.

C. His identification card was the number 666, Revelation 13:18.
Revelation 13:18
This Lamb-Beast is afterward called the "False Prophet", Revelation 16:13;
19:20: 20:10; that is, the Pretender-Lamb. The Dragon, having failed
in his attack on the Church from Without, now attacks from Within,
himself Pretending to be tho Lamb.
D. Coalition of Leopard-Beast and Lamb-Beast
Revelation 13:5

This Coalition continued as a World-Government for 42 months, Revelation 13:5.
It seems to be another symbol of the Holy City being desecrated an
exploited by the World for 42 months, Revelation 11:2.
A Beast", looking like a Lamb, and ruling in the Name of the Lamb
and the Holy City being trodden under foot by the Nations, – these two
symbols seem to mean a World-Government operating in the Name, an
by the Aid- of an Apostate Church. What else can they moan?
Leopard-Beast represents Secular Power. Lamb-Beast represents
Pretended Christian Power. The Dragon uniting them into One World-Power
This Coalition is later called "Babylon", and is more fully describe
in chapters 17 and 18.
While it was on the throne of World-power, the Two Witnesses were
Prophesying in Sackcloth, Revelation 11:3.
This Leopard-Lamb-Beast is thought by some to be the Anti-Christ
By others, to symbolize certain features of World History. To say the
least, its parallel with the Course of the Church through History to the
present time is most amazing, as noted a bit later.

E. The Seven Heads and Ten Horns
Revelation 13:11-17
- The beast coming out of the earth with two hrns, deceiving the world by is false miracles, and causing every one to receive his mark in their right hand, Verses 11-17.
The Dragon had them, Revelation 12:3. The Leopard-Beast had them, Revelation 13:1. The
Scarlet-Colored Beast of "Babylon" had them, Revelation 17:3.
Seven, as a symbol for Completeness, and Ten, as a symbol for World
Power, tho Seven Heads and Ten Horns seem to represent World Power as
a Whole: or, the Concentration and Personification of World Power
continuing as One Entity through the Whole Period of History, manifesting
itself under various forms and to various degrees in various ages,
with many and diverse modifications.
Previous to the rise of our Modern Era, Seven World Powers have towered
above, and very largely Dominated, ths course' of History.
- Egypt was a World Power about 400 years, 1600-1200 B.C.
- Then Assyria, about 300 years, 900-600 B C.
- Then Babylon, 70 years, 606-536 B C.
- Persia, 200 years, 536-330 B C.
- Greece, about 200 years, 330-146 B.C..
- Rome, 600 yrs, 200 B C-400 A.D.
- Papal Rome, 1200 yrs, 600-1800 A D.

F. The Death-Wound of One of the Seven Heads,
Revelation 13:3
At the time the book was written, Five of the World Powers had fallen,
One Was, evidently Rome, and One was Yet to Come, Revelation 17:10: evidently,
One wounded, and brought to life again by the Lamb-Beast, Revelation 13:3, 13:12.
Rome fell 476 A D. But. in the Name of Christ, and by the aid of the
Church, Rome Came to Life Again. And Papal Rome Ruled file World on
a Vaster Extent, and for a Longer Time, and with a more Despotic Hand,
than ever Pagan Rome had done, or any World Power before it.

"42 Months", Revelation 13:5, on the year-day interpretation, 1260 years,
approximate duration of Papacy as a World Power, 6th to 18th centuries.
"Speaking Blasphemies", Revelation 13:6, exactly fits claims of Popes to
Infallibility, to Forgive Sins, to hold the place of God on earth, etc.

the history of mankind.

H. "666", the Number of the Beast,
Revelation 13:18
Revelation 13:18
Called a "Man": meaning; possibly, a set of Men; or, an institution
headed by a Man or set of Men. It seems to mean a Name, the letters of
which, when regarded as numerals, tolal 666.
Irenaeus, a pupil of Polycarp, who was a pupil of John, understood
the 666 to be the equivalent of the Greek word "Lateinos": L, 30,.10: A, 1.
300: E, 5: 1,10: N,50; 0,70: S,200. These total 666.
"Lateinos" means "The Latin Kingdom". Papal Rome made Latin its
official language. And it still is. Rome's canons, missals, prayers,
decrees, bulls, blessings, cursings, arc in LATIN,
