The traditional assumption that the Bible says the Earth, universe, and everything in them were first created about 6000 years ago is inaccurate. At best, it is a half-truth. When the wording of the King James Bible's Genesis creation narrative is concisely parsed and taken at face value, it reveals that what God made in those seven days was a replacement heavens and Earth, a regeneration of the original creation of God.
It was a new beginning of things, a new heavens and Earth made from the ruins of what was already here. The Scriptures clearly say the Earth already existed, but is found in a ruined and desolate state just before the work of the sevens days began. On this website you will learn why.
The doctrine commonly known today as the "Gap Theory," or the Ruin-Reconstruction interpretation, was being preached from the pulpits of Europe and America long before the publication of Darwin's Theory of Evolution or the founding of the modern geological sciences. It does not contradict or nullify the doctrines of man’s creation, original sin, and need for salvation through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is dispensational in theology and premillinnial in eschatology. And it most certainly does not support the Theory of Evolution. On the contrary, it explains why the Earth’s geology reveals such an ancient age, as evidenced by the very laws of physics God Himself established and the great Spiritual Truths to be found in the rightly-divided Word of God.
The wording of the old Authorized King James Version of the Bible predates today's denominational Christian movements, and thus is a translation free from the contamination of modern “Christian Scholarship” and textual bias. It is also a translation free of scientific contamination, as it predates all works of the founding fathers of the Geological sciences.
The Authorized King James Version predates Darwin's "Theory of Evolution" by over 200 years. If the KJV Bible was a trustworthy translation nearly 400 years ago, it is still trustworthy today. The Biblical Truth has not changed, although our understanding of the Earth’s Geology has changed considerably.
Revisiting this old doctrine in the light of what we know to be true today from the geologic record, the literal wording of Genesis 1:2 says that this ancient planet Earth, where the dinosaurs once ruled the land millions of years before, had become completely void of life and was nothing more than a dark, watery wasteland at the point in historical time just prior to 6,000 years ago. God then restored all things, creating Adam and Eve to replace a previous race of creatures who had inhabited the Earth until the final days of the Ice Age.
The Ice Age is the geological event that marks the approximate time of the old world's demise. If this was indeed the case, what Evolutionists contend are the ancient remains of the ancestors of man were not really man's ancestors. They were something biologically similar in structure, but biologically unrelated. As fantastic as this scenario may seem, the recent advent of the science of DNA testing seems to be providing compelling supportive evidence for this hypothesis.
Once you learn the Biblical background on the issues, you will be astounded by what is NOT being taught in most Churches today, because many have abandoned their faith in the authority and infallibility of the King James Version of the Scriptures.
The geologic and fossil records are the surviving evidence that God preserved for us to testify to the truth that the earth is very old and was inhabited for a long period before the seven days of Genesis chapter one. Those records, written in stone, also provide evidence of a long reign of Death upon the Earth and the sudden end of the old world by a universal destructive event. This event included a great flood that occurred before the seven days of Genesis and prior to Noah's flood.
From the Holy Bible we can learn about the ancient origins of Satan and the "sons of God" (the fallen Angels) and how that revelation fits into the time line of Earth's natural history.
The Gap Theory is the only possible interpretation that allows for BOTH the geologic evidence of an Old Earth and the literal wording of the Holy Bible without appeals to Evolution, symbolism and allegory, or outright denial of much widely-accepted scientific data. As such, it deserves due consideration by objective Christian minds seeking the full truth in this matter.
Using that doctrine as a starting point and the respected King James Bible as the authoritative Scripture source text, we will show through both Scientific and Biblical arguments that this theory of Creationism explains many anomalies and obscure passages of Scripture and addresses the facts on both sides of the current debate on origins.
It is therefore my purpose here to point out inaccurate assumptions using both the Scriptures and common sense. We affirm the Holy Bible as the final authority on all questions of natural history and spiritual truth. It is also intended to show how Noah's global flood was a real event by exploring the KJV Bible's clues to the geophysics that produced it, while at the same time proving beyond reasonable doubt that Noah's Flood was not responsible for the Earth's sedimentary geology as claimed by most of today's Creation Science advocates. That geology was formed long ago, in a world before Adam and Eve.
Now, to fully appreciate a study of prophecy, one needs a spiritual & physical knowledge and understanding of Genesis chapter 1, verses 1 and 2. You might say, “I believe – ‘In the beginning God!’” So you do – or you wouldn’t have come this far.
