John D Bell, Continued France, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey and were in the Cuban Missile Crisis. (The latter event postponed my wedding as all leave was cancelled). My job on the aircraft carrier was to launch and recover aircraft in which I excelled and became Senior Topside NCO.
In 1962 I married Ora Delores Gladson of Greenville, NC. In 1964 after four years of service I was Honorably discharged from the Navy. Within a month of discharge I took a job as a credit manager for a local tire distributor. The next year I took a position with Empire Brushes in Greenville, curing the time I was there in 1968 my daughter, and only child, Victoria Susan Bell was born on August 6th. One of my machine operators was a very good friend of mine and she practically pushed me out the door because I was taking my time in leaving to get Delores to the hospital. After five years I was employed by Hamilton Beach in Washington.
Three years later I was employed by Black & Decker in Tarboro, NC as a Plastics Engineer in Product Development. After Ten Years (and many products) I went into business for myself providing Plastic component products for various Fortune 500 Companies including, Borroughs Wellcome, SquareD, I.B.M.. Week Medical, as well as my former employers Black & Decker and Hamilton Beach along with others. The name of the company was Spector Molding, Inc. We employed about 120 people.
We established Bell Plastics in 1985 in Naples, FL with employment of 40 people providing plastic product services. In 1987 I acquired Granville Plastics in Oxford, NC with 47 employees. In 1988 I sold Granville. Plastics, Inc. In 19911 sold Bell Plastics. Inc. in Naples. FL In 1993 I sold Spector Molding. Inc. After selling off all my companies I went to the river cottage at Hawkins Beach to rest while keeping our current home in Grimesland. In 1999 I had had enough rest and came out of retirement and established an Engineering Services Company. In 2002 my daughter had my first grandchild, Julian Cole Hamill. Oh Joy! In 2003 I started Maxwell Industries, Inc. in Washington. NC a plastic component manufacturer. We still live in the same house we bought in 1968.
