Madison Arthur Craig1912 ~ 2005
M. Arthur Craig, 92, of Indiana, PA, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana, Pennsylvania.
He was born August 20, 1912, in Parkwood, Armstrong Township, PA, a son of Martin and Margaret Holstein Craig.
Arthur Craig was a member of the Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and belonged to the Golden Agers. In 1996, he was named Presbyterian Man of the Year by the Presbyterian Men's Organization. He was also a member of the UMWA 3548 McIntyre, AARP, and was a charter member of the Clearview Hunting Lodge in Potter County.
He was employed by the R&P Coal Co., and had worked as a coal miner for 26 years. He also worked as an electrician for Lightcap Electric and IUP before retiring in 1977.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha Millen Craig in 1998, and six brother: C. Merle, LeRoy, Paul William, Preston and Glenn Craig
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, PA, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, with the Rev. Matt Jones officiating. Internment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery.
