1. Discipline yourself so that others won't have to.
2. A man cannot get anywhere while he is straddling a fence.
3. Anybody who thinks that money grows on trees is bound sooner or later, to get caught out on a limb.
4. A true friend is one who thinks you're a good egg even when you're busted.
5. An open mind is good, so is an open window; but you put a screen on it to keep the bugs out.
6. Character is made by what you stand for; reputation by what you fall for.
7. A person can rather accurately be measured by the size of the thing that makes him angry.
8. The hardest tumble a man can take is to fall over his own bluff.
9. Speaking without thinking is like shooting without taking aim.
10. Aim HIGH. It is no harder on the gun to knock the feathers off an eagle than to knock the fur off a skunk.
11. Some people have too much to live on, and too little to live for.
12. It's 10 to 1 that when someone slaps you on the back he is trying to make you cough up something.
13. It isn't necessary to blow out the other fellows light in order to let your own shine.
14. If you are bent on having a fling, don't forget it carries a sting.
15. God wants spiritual fruit ...not religious nuts.
